Before I start with this lesson I need to add something to my previous lesson.
When you start in internet marketing and you subscribe to lots of information you certainly will need a password manager tool. There are many out there and the one I use is called Roboform. I have used many but Roboform is doing the job for me. I’m busy with a tutorial in how to use Roboform if that free tutorial is finished you can find it here.
Yes, I know that there are many tutorials out there that explain you how to build a website and what you need to know to structure your webpage. What many don’t tell is what is important for a website and what things need to be implemented
In this article we focus about the importance of content and what you should include or avoid putting up in your website.
There are differences; You are going to have a multiple page site or you are going to use a so called mini site where you sell a product or where you gather data from your visitors. Each option has a different approach.
Option 1: A normal website
Before we even get started we need to think about a topic. A website without a topic or a website with a topic that everyone has. To succeed in internet marketing you have to find a niche. A niche can be something in your surroundings or can even be a hobby or things you know about. If you have few competitors and keywords in your text that people are searching for than you have a niche and a possibility of selling products.
If you don’t have an idea what you need to put on your website then certainly this might help you. Click here for a daily top 10 of search tems
A multiple page site can capture visitor data as well but the difference with a mini site is that you can let your visitors focus on more than one thing. A mini site is there only to fulfill one purpose: To have people focus on one thing. A multiple page site can be used for monetising by using advertisement and have revenue coming in from the clicks on advertisements while a minisite is used to monetize one product (or related products)
In short a multiple page website can bring you an income by monetizing all pages. The more pages a website has the more chances for you to have a revenue in.
If you have followed my lessons than you can already see that I have talked about several income streams:(In one of my next articles I’ll talk about this in depth)
- Your own product
- Affiliate products
- Revenue out of advertisements
A good example of a multiple page website that you can run yourself is an article directory, a forum or a messageboard site etc etc
The most important thing when you are thinking of selling your niche product is to associate directly dependent products. For example suppose you sell cars than you can also find associated products as loans or credit cards or car insurance to complement your main product. Visitors are likely to click on advertisements on similar or related products since they will need other products as well.
In order to achieve advertisements to these related products you either need to find these related affiliate products and have to write the contents of your website with keywords so that a program as Google Adsense can find and display these related advertisements.
The best what you can do is become an affiliate or reseller of the dependent product you are promoting in your website. The commission paid by these companies is higher then the commission paid out by Google in most cases.
As you can see the contents of your website needs to be important. If you are writing in a certain way that your visitors can’t see the relation than creating a revenue from your main product will be difficult.
If I sell cars than I need to make sure that people can understand why insurance is important.
If you aren’t a writer then you can use content from other sources or let someone professional write your contents of your site.
The use of other sources is important because you create backlinks and generate unwillingly traffic to and from your site.
Option 2: A mini site
In a mini site you are only focussing on one thing: capturing data or selling your product. A multiple website can then be used as a buffer to point to mini sites.
We stay with our example of cars. You have created a multiple page website with articles about cars and you sell a particular brand: A Ferrari.
If people are interested to know more about Ferrari’s then they click on a link (or a picture/video) of a Ferrari that brings them to a mini site. On this webpage they can either fill out a form for more information about Ferrari’s or buy a Ferrari. After submitting the form people can be presented with a “thank you” page (for submitting their details or for buying the Ferrari). On this thank you page you can include a directing to another offer or in case of submitting their details you can use this data for further communication. This is the only purpose of a minisite.
If you are unaware of a minisite and how to create one. I use and recommend Instantsqueezepagegenerator. This free software will create a splash or squeezepage instantly only by filling out a form. Quite neat if you don’t have the experience. If you want to know more about instantsqueezepagegenerator just click here.
Just a couple of days ago, Michael Rasmussen launched a new site called Mini Site Profits Exposed. He explains in videos everything what you need to know about mini sites and how you can earn money from it.

You might be aware that a blog ( a special website) can be used as a buffer to one or several minisites or a redirection to an affiliate program. I’ll talk about a blog later on in my lessons
A lot of people are talking about building a list. Capturing data from a form on a website will get you this data. The most important thing is that you are going to use this data. If you don’t maintain these very targeted leads than you will fail.
You can write a newsletter, you need to maintain your website with accurate information and when using a blog you need to write regularly articles to your blog or even an article directory.
In the next lesson I’ll talk about the contents of a webpage, email or article in detail.
To Your success
